This love story begins long before Alexandra and Pavan first met, in a magical place called…Ocean City, Maryland. It was here that the two cultivated their passion for sunny beaches that would eventually lead them to California, and each other. Little did they know at the time that they lived just 90 minutes apart from one another, and traveled to the same beach every summer, boogie-boarding the same waves and chowing down their favorite boardwalk fries.

Alexandra grew up in a small town in central Pennsylvania. While she had never been to the West Coast, she had dreams of moving to California from the time she was five. In adolescence, she would often have visions of riding in the passenger seat of a convertible down a coastal highway. Although she could never see who was in the driver’s seat, she felt in her soul that it was her future love, and with that person, her life would truly begin. When it came time for college she discovered that Temple University in Philadelphia had a study away program in Los Angeles, and she seized her window of opportunity. Her dream became a reality.

Meanwhile, Pavan was growing up in Maryland, right outside of DC. Pavan also shared a lifelong dream of moving to California, but growing up in a large, tight-knit family all living a stone’s throw away made it hard to imagine leaving home. However, frequent family trips to exotic places planted a seed of adventure in his heart that would one day blossom. He began college close to home at the University of Maryland, but after a trip to Los Angeles and experiencing USC’s campus, he was convinced it was time to leave home for LA.

Pavan and Alexandra were now living in the same city, and even attending all the same festivals like Lightning in a Bottle, Symbiosis, and Burning Man, but they still hadn’t formally crossed paths. The universe was laying the blueprints and working in perfect timing.

Five years after moving to Los Angeles, they finally met in 2019. Pavan had just moved back to LA after a few years in San Francisco and they were both embarking on new chapters in Venice when their mutual friend Evelyn introduced Alexandra to Pavan at his housewarming party. There was an immediate connection of friendship, but the two wouldn’t start dating for over a year and a half.

It’s impossible to share all of the incredible stories, memories, and experiences that forged their bond over this period of time, but it became clear that their connection was unlike any other they had experienced. Despite their strong connection, Alexandra didn’t suspect that Pavan was into her. One memorable instance that confirmed this belief was on their first hike together. They were talking about their dreams and shared visions of the future when Alexandra slipped and fell down the hill. Pavan immediately broke out into laughter. Alexandra thought he must not have been into her since he didn’t rush to her aid, while at the same time, Pavan was contemplating his growing feelings for her.

Pavan began making countless little attempts to spend romantic time alone together, all of which Alexandra was oblivious to. It was Covid times after all, so they weren’t seeing many people, and she enjoyed spending all her time with Pavan. It was not until one day on the beach (their favorite place) that Pavan finally made a real move. He leaned in to kiss her. In Alexandra’s confusion, she pulled back and he missed and hit her ear. Alexandra asked him, "Did you just try and kiss me?" to which Pavan said, "No...". Alexandra insisted that they needed to sort this out, so she put a date on the calendar a week later so they could discuss what had happened. FINALLY, Pavan revealed his feelings to her. What had been obvious to everyone, shocked Alexandra. After some further questioning (IYKYK) she took some time to process this shift in their friendship.

One day they sat on the beach together in meditation, and a voice came to Alexandra that said “re-think everything you think you know about relationships.” In that moment it became clear that true friendship is the best foundation for a relationship and she had repressed her feelings for Pavan. They shared their first kiss that day and decided to give dating a real shot.

Both of their hearts now open, they fell in love almost instantly. It wasn’t until a year into their relationship, as Alexandra rode in Pavan’s passenger seat down the Pacific Coast Highway, that her childhood vision returned and she realized it was always him.

Leading up to three years as an official couple, Pavan popped the question in the most epic proposal of all time. He chose the mountain tops of Meteora, Greece, known as one of the most sacred places on earth, and also a filming site for James Bond; beautifully and hilariously reflecting both Alexandra and Pavan.

A love story over 30 years in the making and a soul bond that transcends time and space, Pavan and Alexandra were destined to find one another. They balance each other in the most beautiful way that allows one another to reach their highest potential. Their days are filled with adventure, laughter, devotion, and an abundance of love. One only needs to be in their presence to feel the unique bond they share.

They are best friends, soulmates, and everything in between. The adventurous spirits that led them to find each other in California have taken them on many journeys since. Their first international trip together was in Tulum and they have continued traveling to many locations across the globe. Now, they can’t wait to return to Tulum together for a fourth time with all their closest friends and family to celebrate spending the rest of their lives together, growing and evolving in love.
